Kids found their own groove Wednesday at Karen Western Elementary’s second annual “Rock the Test” pep rally. The Ralston school’s event was meant to spur excitement for the Nebraska State Accountability tests.
“It definitely contributes to helping those kids feel good,” said Sarah Meader, a first-grade teacher.
Starting Monday, Karen Western’s third- through sixth-graders will take state tests in math and reading. The school’s fifth-graders will take the state science test as well. Across Nebraska, students in grades three through eight and 11th-graders will take state exams during the next six weeks.
