Hockey is nothing new to Omaha, but the sport got a different spin Saturday in the Battles on Ice outdoor event at TD Ameritrade Stadium.
The ballpark built for the College World Series hosted a doubleheader – the Omaha Lancers vs. the Lincoln Stars, and UNO vs. North Dakota.
There were a few hiccups, but in the end more than 13,000 people took in outdoor hockey.
