Week in pictures: Falcons, a solar eclipse and open season on swimming

We catch up with Nebraska Game and Parks and Raptor Recovery as they band falcons, a Homestead Act celebration and swimmers at the Gretna Municipal Pool in the World-Herald Week in Pictures: May 14-20, 2012.

A female peregrine falcon chick is held still by representatives of Nebraska Game and Parks and Raptor Recovery Nebraska so blood can be drawn and a band can be attached to her leg. The two female and three male chicks -- the seventh set of offspring by Omaha falcons Hera and Zeus -- live on the 28th floor of the Woodmen Tower. MARK DAVIS/THE WORLD-HERALD
