2011 OWH Year in Pictures and Videos

Omaha World-Herald staff photographs by Jeff Beiermann, James R. Burnett, Mark Davis, Rebecca S. Gratz, Chris Machian, Matt Miller, Corey Perrine, Alyssa Schukar and Kent Sievers

Members of The World-Herald visual team took readers around the world this year, from the war in Afghanistan to rebuilding homes in Haiti. We went along with the Huskers in their first year of travel in the Big Ten. From photos of Missouri River flooding stretching across South Dakota to Missouri, to the opening of two new stadiums in the Omaha area, our staff was there documenting the events. In the upcoming weeks, Viewfinder will feature each member of The World-Herald’s visual staff and their favorite images and moments captured in 2011.

We’re looking forward to a busy 2012. Omaha is hosting an NCAA basketball regional as well as the College World Series and the Olympic swim trials. We also have new destinations to visit in the Big Ten. Our lenses will capture it all and bring it to you throughout the year. Enjoy!
